ADULT EDUCATION

Education has always been a core component of our mission. Our Adult Education programs focus on providing accessible, practical courses to help students expand their skills, employment opportunities and increase their wages. Taught by a dedicated group of staff and volunteers, many of our programs offer ongoing, one-to-one instruction to provide the support each individual needs to achieve long-term success. Both daytime and evening classes are offered throughout the year.

Due to Covid-19, Adult Education programs will be held virtually to keep our students, staff, and volunteers safe.

Adult Education

High School Equivalency Program

The High School Equivalency (HSE) program (formerly called the GED program) at Beverly Bootstraps provides high school level instruction in reading, writing, social studies, science, and mathematics. With an HSE certificate, our students can greatly improve their career and salary potential.

Until further notice, HSE tutoring will take place via Zoom. Students and tutors meet virtually at mutually agreed-upon days and times. An orientation to distance learning is required of all students during which program expectations will be outlined and technology issues will be addressed.

To sign up for the HSE program, please contact Yvonne at yvonne@beverlybootstraps.org or 978-927-1561.

ESOL

Our English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) program focuses on basic communication skills. Our aim is for students to become confident, accurate, fluent speakers and writers of English. Class time is used to learn proper grammar, practice skills, and engage in conversation with classmates and native speakers.

Until further notice, classes will be held virtually via Zoom in small groups. These classes will be held at pre-scheduled days and times. An initial meeting/training with small groups of students, in a socially distanced model, will be held to ensure students understand expectations and to have their technology access and understanding assessed.

To sign up for ESOL classes, please contact Yvonne at yvonne@beverlybootstraps.org or 978-927-1561.
