Volunteer Opportunities

Volunteers play in integral role at Beverly Bootstraps Community Services. There are ongoing and project-orientated volunteer opportunities. We currently have volunteer opportunities in the following programs:

Homework Club
The Homework Club is an after-school program offered to elementary school age children, focusing on supporting youth completing their homework. 

Areas of Need:

Cyber Café
The Cyber Café is an after-school program offered to middle school students, this program provides youth access to computers.

Areas of Need:

GED Program
The GED program offers a small class size to those wanting to pass the GED exam.

ESL Program
The ESL Program is designed to support non-English speaking individuals with basic conversational English skills.

Literacy Program
The Literacy Program connects trained volunteer tutors with adult students willing to devote the tremendous time and energy needed to learn reading and writing.

Thrift Shop

Wonderful, generous volunteers staff our store. Monday through Friday shifts are 2.5 hours long. Saturday volunteers work once a month for four hours on a Saturday shift.

Family Volunteering

Families with younger kids who would like to volunteer together can click on this link and visit the North Shore United Way website. NSUW is working with nonprofits on the North Shore to create such opportunities.

Adminstrative

We staff our front desk with volunteers at 371 Cabot Street.   Shifts are 2.5 hours long, Monday through Friday.  Duties include greeting visitors, answering phones, logging donations and other assignments.

Be a Friend

The purpose of the Friends of Beverly Bootstraps is to support the Staff and Board of Beverly Bootstraps Community Services, Inc.  All friends are volunteers on an as needed basis. The communication with the Friends comes mainly by emails, which contain program needs, volunteer opportunities and news of upcoming events. To join the Friends, add your email address below. Volunteer Newsletter

Communicating with our volunteers is important to us.  In addition to the monthly Friends email, we occasionally mail out a traditional newsletter to show our appreciation for the many hours our volunteers provide to Beverly Bootstraps Community Services, and to also let them know about upcoming events and additional volunteer opportunities available to them.
