Homelessness Prevention

Beverly Bootstraps Community Services' case workers work with Beverly and Manchester residents who are at risk of homelessness due to rent or utility arrears and the high cost of housing. The primary goal is to stabilize families by helping them maintain their current housing. Through case management services, staff work with individuals and families to:
- Help with eviction notices
- Assess for financial assistance for rent, mortgage and/or utility payments
- Help with subsidized housing, including application issues
- Provide assistance with personal budgeting and credit management
Beverly Bootstraps Community Services serves the Beverly and Manchester areas. We try not to turn anyone away from Beverly Bootstraps Community Services, Inc. If we find someone is not eligible for financial assistance, we make every effort to make other services we offer available or to make appropriate referrals.
All requests for funding are carefully reviewed by two or more of case workers during the appeal process. In order to qualify for financial assistance, clients must show that they will be able to make ongoing future payments.
Financial Assistance Guidelines*
- Each person requesting assistance must provide basic contact information; name, address, phone, number of people living in household, age of kids, income, expenses and benefits. A budget is reviewed for each individual requesting financial assistance.
- Clients must inform Beverly Bootstraps Community Services of other organizations where they received financial assistance.
- A hardship letter must be provided to Beverly Bootstraps Community Services outlining the need for financial assistance and actions that will be taken to work towards financial stability.
- Clients must have lived in Beverly for over one year to qualify for financial assistance.
- For utility assistance clients must have made consistent payments for a minimum of 5 months.
* We have limited funds at Beverly Bootstraps Community Services. Completing an intake and a hardship letter does not guarantee financial assistance. Each request for funding is taken on a case by case basis.
