Educate - Embrace - Empower
Beverly Bootstraps Community Services began in 1992 with the establishment of a food pantry in the basement of Beverly's First Baptist Christ Church. The food pantry quickly became an invaluable resource for the local community. Over the years, the organization grew and strengthened its capacity to address hunger-related issues, such as education shortfalls, housing insecurity, and poor health. Currently, we have a staff of twenty and occupy a wonderful building at 371 Cabot Street that houses our expanded food pantry, classrooms, and state-of-the-art computer lab. After 18 years, Bootstraps has proudly established itself as one of the North Shore's premier social service agencies.
We believe that anyone can reach his or her potential, provided the right support systems are in place. Beverly Bootstraps is unique in that we are a "one-stop shop" for our clients. Individuals and families can enter our building and receive a broad range of emergency and long-term support services that address their entire situation, not just a single aspect. Our programs are specifically is designed to develop real-world skills, promote confidence, and encourage long-term self-sufficiency.
Many of our clients have worked hard, rebuilt dreams, and gone on to accomplish amazing things. We are immensely proud of these individuals. Each day, however, Bootstraps meets new families that require assistance. Since 2007, there has been a 50 percent increase in traffic at the food pantry and a 60 percent increase in general case management. These numbers remind us of the importance of what we do, and underscore the tremendous value of Beverly Bootstraps as an organization.
