That sweater, table, pair of boots or that great necklace you donate, provides us with great merchandise for the store while also raising funds for all of the programs at Beverly Bootstraps Community Services. Donations are tax deductible. We ask that all donors fill out an information sheet when dropping off items. A copy of this sheet will serve as your receipt for tax purposes.

Making Donations to Boots, Straps and More:
Donations are accepted during normal business hours at 198 Rantoul Street.
Please do not leave donations outside our doors when we are closed.
Donations We Seek: All Items Should Be in Good Re-saleable Condition
• Seasonal Clothing: Men’s, Women’s, Children’s (some exceptions)
• Accessories: Shoes, purses, scarves, belts, ties, back packs, clean socks and undergarments
• Jewelry: Earrings, necklaces, watches, rings
• Decorative Items: Paintings, prints, wall hangings, candlesticks/holders, vases, mirrors, knick-knacks, andirons,
statues, plates, lamps, sculptures, art work
• Household: Dishware, flatware, cook and bake ware, utensils, platters, serving pieces, kitchen gadgets, fine china
• Furniture: Desks, couches, end tables, bedroom furniture, tables and chairs, upholstered chairs and ottomans,
bar stools, bookcases, highboys, armoires, trunks
• Rugs: In good condition
• Tools: In working condition
• Musical Instruments: In working condition
• Garden items: Statuary, planters, gardening tools
• Seasonal items: Holiday decorative items – In season, please!
• Crafting and Art supplies
• Fabric: Larger pieces and bolts
• Linens: Curtains, comforters, sheet sets, tablecloths, blankets, drapes, napkins – No stains or rips, please!
• Window Treatments: Curtain rods, tiebacks, shutters, architectural pieces
Condition is EVERYTHING!
*If you have furniture that you would like to donate but are unable to deliver to our store, we may be able to help you with pickups. Please call us at 978-921-4710 to get on the schedule to help with your furniture, usually on Tuesdays and Thursdays. We are currently booking donation pick up appointments two weeks out. Please plan accordingly and thanks for your patience!
Donations We Can No Longer Accept Due to the Escalating Cost of Disposal, Liability Issues and New Laws
Governing Resale of Toys and Children’s Clothing
- Items previously in yard sale: It costs Beverly Bootstraps Community Services money to discard merchandise when it does not sell.
- Used toys
- Children’s clothing with painted buttons, snaps, zippers or plasticized embellishments
- Opened games and puzzles, stuffed animals
- Electronics: TV’s, stereos, answering machines, VCR’s, DVD players, video and computer games, any out-of-date technology. [For disposal of these items, the donor should check with their local Town Hall for electronic-device collection policies and dates]
- Computer components: monitors, printers, fax machines, scanners, other out-of-date computer technology. [Staples or Best Buy will take these items, or call George at 781-526-9197 of Veteran's Project Beverly that accepts working electronic items which they refurbish for veterans, seniors and school students.
- Stained, ripped, out-of-season or dated clothing
- Worn out shoes and boots
- Over-sized entertainment centers, buffets and hutches
- Furniture with rips, stains, over-used or broken parts
- Baby items: Strollers, car seats, cribs, baby gates, high chairs, booster seats. [Community Giving Tree will take these items]
- Sporting equipment: skates, skis, roller blades, pads, bats, helmets, hockey sticks, or other sports-related items
- Blinds with cords or other recalled items
- Mattresses including sleep sofas, futons and sleeping pillows
- Appliances
